The Parent Association is the structure through which parents in our school can work together for the best possible education for their children.
It is a voluntary group of parents that actively supports the school in a variety different ways. They work closely with the Principal, Staff and the Board of Management to build effective partnership between the home and school. Partnership between the home and school is important because with positive and active partnership, the child gets the best that primary education can offer.
Every parent of a child in Togher Boys’ School is an automatic member of the Parents’ Association (PA) and welcome to get involved in any or all of the various activities that are planned throughout the school year.
Each year, usually in September, a Committee is elected for that school year at the Annual General Meeting. Theofficers of this Committee meet regularly with the school Principal throughout the year.
Some of the activities that our Parents association engage in are:
- Book rental scheme
- Santa’s visit!
- Advisory role to Principal/Staff
- Policy development and review
